The always entertaining Harlem Globetrotters entertained residents and tourist of Cape May county this past week at the beautiful Wildwood convention center. As someone who has never seen the Harlem Globetrotters live I was not sure what to expect. I knew who they were and knew it was a family show that included lots of humor and some basketball but i was surprised how entertaining the show was considering I am not really a fan of basketball. The show is not just about basketball it is about having fun with the family and the globetrotters did that well. From the minute the “game” began I realized that this was a show that was going to have my children and husband entertained throughout the evening. The Globetrotters did not disappoint and my family laughed, smiled and were entertained throughout the entire evening. Never a dull moment and we even were given a special treat during halftime when dancers from Emerald Isle Academy of Irish Dance treated us to a number of Irish Step Dancing routines. The dancers who are mostly local to south jersey showed us traditional Irish Jigs, Reels and even some River Dancing. A number of dancers that performed have just returned from Ireland where they competed at The All-Irelands in Ireland. They are always looking for new dancers and classes take place all over south jersey including Rio Grande. They also have classes in Pennsylvania and Delaware. For more information please visit them on facebook as their website is under construction.
