Forever Forest Review
For 65 years E & E Christmas Tree Farms has been, for some families, a tradition. In February 2018 E & E Christmas Tree Farms was sold to a new owner. He transformed it into the Forever Forest in Egg Harbor City NJ. Since its opening it has brought in mixed reviews, so we decided to check it out for ourselves.
On a busy Saturday night we arrived and were directed to park down a residential street. It was a crisp 23 degrees outside. It was a little bit of a walk, but my little guy didn’t seem to care. The entrance is all a glow with colored lights and a large bright Merry Christmas sign. There are a few friendly staffers helping you cross the highway.
Once inside our first stop was the blow up snow globe. Its a large inflatable the kids can enter and pretend they are in their very own snow globe. There are some balls inside to toss around. Out side there is snow machine kicking out some fake snow flakes. Its a good spot to snap a photo. My little guy had made some friends inside so he was quite content with playing inside the globe. The globe roughly accommodates 3-5 children.
After a quick photo in front of the large lit up tree in the center of the entrance, we decided to ice skate. The ice skating ring is small. Its also a plastic floor. There’s a pile of stocking booties, kids can attach over their shoes to help them glide. Lots of kids were lined up to give it a shot.
The main attraction is really Santa’s Workshop. The barn has been transformed into Santa’s Workshop, and there is a lot to do inside. There is a small village of lit up Christmas houses, you can have a try at the ring toss game, or make a craft. There a several rows of tables where kids are invited to sit down, and make a foam ornament, or draft a letter to Santa. You can get a cute Christmas design painted on your face at one table, and your nails painted in festive Christmas colors at another.
You can even pop your letter to Santa in the North Pole mail box.
The back of the barn is where you pay and get your hand stamped for the tractor ride. You can visit with Santa Clause, take a virtual reality sleigh ride, or hang out and play with some toys in the workshop. You’ll find a hot wheels set up on one of the picnic tables, and a robot/ rc area in another area. There is also a game station set up so kids can play some video games on a big screen tv. The barn has heaters to take the chill off as well.
There is a concession stand to grab some hot cocoa. You can even grab some packages of s’mores and sit at one of two fire pits and roast your marshmallows over the flames. One even has an inflatable screen and you can watch a Christmas cartoon.
You can take a tractor ride through the Christmas tree forest. Along the way you will find several trees decorated with lights. Its just a quick little ride around the farm.
The staff at Forever Forest is very friendly and warm. You will need to dress very warm as most of the activities are out side, and there can be a bit of a wait for the tractor ride. The barn does provide some relief with heaters placed around randomly. If you can get there early, and manage to grab a spot inside the farms parking lot; you can wait in your warm car while someone holds your place in line for the tractor ride. It’s quick fun little trip that could turn into a family tradition if you incorporate picking out your Christmas tree.
