The ceremony at Convention Hall will be preceded by wreath laying observances county-wide including those in Cape May at the U.S. Coast Guard Training Center and the All Wars Monument on Columbia Avenue. Immediately following the ceremony at approximately 11:45 a.m. the United States Coast Guard Training Center Cape May detachments will participate with Flotilla 8-2 of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary in presenting the Rifle Salute and launching of the flower boat from Gurney Street Beach.
The public is encouraged to attend these ceremonies to honor our Military Veterans.

North Wildwood Memorial Day Ceremony

Memorial Day Ceremony at the North Wildwood Veterans Monument, Spruce & New York Avenues, North Wildwood. 10 a.m. Hosted by VFW Post 5941. There will also be a service earlier that morning at 9:30 a.m. at the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse flagpole where the names of the VFW Post 5941 members who have deceased since last Memorial Day will be read and their service honored.
Wildwood Memorial Day Ceremony

Memorial Day Ceremonies at the Wildwood American Legion Post #184, 4200 Atlantic Ave. in Wildwood at 11 a.m. featuring speakers, recognition of deceased comrades, firing squad, “Taps” and wreath laying ceremonies at the Post, the Memorial Walk, and at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall. Police Explorers will also lay a wreath in the ocean along with Wildwood’s Beach Patrol behind the Wildwoods Convention Center. Ocean City Memorial Day Service

SEAVILLE MEMORIAL DAY SERVICE AT GODFREY MEMORIAL PARK: 9:30 a.m.; A Memorial Day Service will be held at Sergeant William R. Godfrey Memorial Park at 1731 Route 9 in Seaville. Osprey Point resident Aldo Palombo will host the ceremony with a flag salute. The service will be at the Osprey Point Clubhouse if there is inclement weather.
SOMERS POINT MEMORIAL DAY PARADE: 10 a.m. registration, 11 a.m. parade; marching bands, antique cars, sports cars, classic cars, military vehicles, veterans, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and more; begins at Dawes Avenue School and proceeds down Shore Road until it reaches Patriots Park at Bethel Road and First Street. 609-677-5700.

ATLANTIC CITY MEMORIAL DAY CELEBRATION: noon at Brown’s Memorial Park at 135 N. Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard, Atlantic City. The celebration includes the unveiling of a sculpture in memory of Sgt. Harold Brown and a memorial wreath presentation in honor of fallen veterans. The Rev. Eric McCoy will provide remarks and a community barbecue will follow. Admission is free.

LONGPORT MEMORIAL DAY EVENTS: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; parade, ceremony and a hot dog picnic; 11 a.m., parade will start from 33rd and Atlantic avenues, ends at Thomas B.
